1.     “His lashes open and his eyes meet mine. ‘Careful,” he says weakly. ‘There’s a force field ahead.’ I laugh, but there are tears running down my cheeks.” This quotation displays the author’s writing style as having a very emotional tone throughout the book. She could have just said how Peeta ran into the force field, but instead included how their eyes meet, and while Katniss is laughing at his joke, she is also crying from the emotional scarring of the Hunger Games.

Katniss says, “I can see Finnick’s eyes, green in the moonlight. I can see them as clear as day. Almost like a cat’s, with a strange reflective quality. Maybe because they are shiny with tears.” This quotation shows how the author has excellent diction while writing the novel. Her choice of descriptive words, such as moonlight or reflective, make it so the reader is not just looking at writing on pages, but each sentence imprints a different imagine in the persons mind.

2.     Katniss Everdeen transformed from being a regular nobody to a massive iconic Mockingjay(A)(M) throughout the course of the novel. Her emotions and outlook on life change very slowly(US), like an atomic bomb of rebelling(A) spreading over the nation(S). The Games changed her from being an uninteresting girl to a woman with a purpose and a goal of overthrowing the capitol.
